During the ceremony, Bralirwa employees unveiled a plaque at their offices in, Kicukiro, with names of the seven employees who were killed in the facility by Interahamwe militia. They also laid wreaths on the monument.

Over seven people were killed at the factory on April 25, 1994 where they were hiding from killers. They had been in hiding since April 6, 1994.

The Director for Bralirwa, Door Plantenga, quoted the famous Dr Martin Luther King saying: "Hatred paralyses life, love releases it, hatred confuses life, and love harmonizes it, hatred darkens life, and love illuminates it."
