Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Albert Murasira, on May 3, hosted Vít Rakušan, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Czech Republic, and his delegation as they discussed bilateral cooperation.
The duo discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of Defence and Security.

In 2016, Gen. Josef Becvar, then Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, visited Rwanda. The purpose of his visit was to explore ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries in defense matters, with a particular focus on training.

Meanwhile, Rakušan and his delegation, who are on a working visit, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health to advance healthcare through specialized care, training, infrastructure, and equipment.
On May 2, he signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of Rwanda. This agreement is expected to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.
