On a beautiful Monday afternoon, residents of Nyakibirizi sector, Bugesera District  turned up in large numbers to receive Primus Guma Guma stars. The stars entertained orphans, widows and widowers of the 1994  Genocide against the Tutsi living in this eastern part of the country, where some of the most brutal killings took place.

A Genocide widow in Nyakibirizi sector receives donations from the artistes.

On a beautiful Monday afternoon, residents of Nyakibirizi sector, Bugesera District  turned up in large numbers to receive Primus Guma Guma stars. The stars entertained orphans, widows and widowers of the 1994  Genocide against the Tutsi living in this eastern part of the country, where some of the most brutal killings took place.Jay Polly, Young Grace, King James, Bull Dog, Emmy, Just Family and Dream Boys were the stars at the venue. During the visit, Primus Guma Guma team donated assorted items, including  rice, soap, cooking oil and sugar to 20 families that survived the Genocide.The event is among a series of activities Primus Guma Guma Superstar finalists will take part in as one of the company’s corporate social responsibility – before embarking on road shows across the country, next month.The stars were led by Primus and Heineken brand manager, Jean Pierre Uwizeye, and Joseph Mushyoma, boss of the East African Promoters. Recently, they participated in the monthly community service (Umuganda), visited Ntarama memorial site, and are expected to visit patients at University Central Hospital of Kigali (CHUK).  A football match against showbiz journalists will also be among the highlights.The second edition of Primus Guma Guma Superstar (PGGSS) music competition started on February 3, 2012.The competition is organised by Bralirwa Ltd, through its flagship brand Primus, in partnership with the East African Promoters.This year, 10 aspirants must prove their prowess to the public with the ultimate winner expected to walk away with a grand prize, in addition to a recording deal and promotion of a new album. The first runner-up will also receive awesome prizes.The grand finale is slated for July 28, at Amahoro Stadium. It will be graced by internationally acclaimed R&B star Jason Derulo.
