THE national football team, Amavubi, have landed two friendly invites from Libya and Tunisia ahead of their packed international season in June when they play two World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games.

THE national football team, Amavubi, have landed two friendly invites from Libya and Tunisia ahead of their packed international season in June when they play two World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games.Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa, identified Tunisia because of its geographical location, next to Algeria, who Amavubi play on June 2 in their first World Cup qualifying game before hosting Benin in Kigali on June 9.Amavubi will then travel to Lagos for the return leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria due June 15-17.Amavubi’s head coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho, who arrived back in the country yesterday, told Times Sport that Libya had sent their paperwork and the Tunisian football federation was yet to send their formal acceptance but had published it on their website."Together with the Ministry of Sports, we shall sit down and agree which option is the best for us as we prepare to play against Algeria. Tunisia is on the same altitude with Algeria and the weather conditions are the same which works for us,” explained Micho.The Director of Sports in the Ministry of Sports and Culture, Emmanuel Bugingo, explained that the meeting will choose between the two countries.  According to Ferwafa’s Secretary General, Michel Gasigwa, Amavubi will be summoned immediately once the football season comes to an end mid next month
