Equity Bank boosts Gir’inka drive

Equity Bank-Rwanda, last Saturday, launched a project to contribute towards the one cow per poor household programme, commonly known as Gir’inka.

Equity Bank-Rwanda, last Saturday, launched a project to contribute towards the one cow per poor household programme, commonly known as Gir’inka.As part of this project, ten families-all headed by Genocide survivors in Ruhuha Sector, Bugesera District received a cow each. "Basing on what I have witnessed from those who received cows before, I am sure this cow will help me and my family,” said Patricia Mukarugira, one of the beneficiaries.The bank also donated 43 bags of rice worth Rwf 1million.Nahashon Ojode, the General Manager in charge of the bank’s credit department, said the donation is a fulfilment of a promise made recently as the bank’s employee’s joined residents during community work.
