Editor,

Recently, the World Bank report, Doing Business in the East African Community 2012, released in the Burundian capital of Bujumbira, indicated that Rwanda had eased the procedures for starting a business. It said it takes two procedures and two days to start a business in Rwanda as opposed to an average of ten procedures in the other EAC partner states. As a matter of fact, it now takes just six hours to register a business with the Rwanda Development Board. To keep abreast with the fast moving and changing world, it is important to review and adapt procedures and policies. Rwanda, for sure, has mastered this art and, therefore, will continue to be the preferred destination for trade, commerce and investments in the EAC region.Rwanda offers an attractive environment to operate in or to run a business from.Regionally, Rwanda still remains largely a virgin territory for investors in the region and beyond. Across the board, there are many unexploited opportunities and, with zero tolerance to corruption, and extremely low levels of crime, Rwanda is indeed your ideal investment destination.Pauline TeddyKigali
