Kirehe-Police in Kirehe District, acting on a tip off, intercepted two men who were transporting 300 kg of marijuana from Mahama sector to Cyahafi, a suburb in Kigali city.Their car was stopped by Police last Thursday at about 11.20pm and it’s two occupants arrested.Superintendent Theos Badege, the Police Spokesman told The New Times that drug trafficking activities had been greatly handicapped by the vigilance of community policing committees (CPCs)."It is becoming trickier for drug dealers due to community awareness. We are tough on drug dealers because it is a crime that constitutes a pushing factor to other serious crimes”.At least 565 kilograms of marijuana have been seized in Kirehe District since January.
