SundayEspoir     1-4 Rayon Sports La Jeunesse     0-3     APR Etincelles   1-2    AS KigaliDefending champions APR boosted their hunt for this season’s title in some style as they trounced La Jeunesse 3-0 yesterday at Stade de Kigali.Midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza scored with a neat finish on 40th minute and Faty Papy added the second on 62nd minute with an imperious strike from outside the box.Selemani Ndikumana sealed the impressive win with the third goal on 77th minute with a clinical finish to help the military side leapfrog Mukura into second place.Victory moves APR to 37 points, one ahead of Rayon Sports and Mukura, who dropped to fourth and seven points behind leaders Police in 18 matches played this season.Elsewhere, six-time league champion Rayon Sports, who have been hit with player strikes over unpaid salaries, smashed relegation battling Espoir 4-1 in Rusizi.The club played without Cedric Amissi, Hamad Ndikumana and Fuadi Ndayisenga but still managed to bag maximum points to enable them move into third spot with 37 points and a less goal difference over the military side.The blues snatched the win courtesy of strikes from Bokota Labama, Jerome Sina, Tumaine Ntamuhanga and Floribert Ndayisaba with former Rwandan international Bonaventure Hategikimana scoring the consolation for the hosts from a penalty.In Rubavu, AS Kigali beat home side Etincelles 2-1 to go to 21 points but remain on eleventh position in 20 matches.On Saturday, Mukura missed the chance to close gap on leaders Police after they were held to a goalless draw away to Amagaju.Mukura have dropped into fourth position with 36 points in 19 matches, while Amagaju also remained unmoved in tenth position with 21 points from the same number of matches played.Isonga and Kiyovu failed to make any big impact in their bid to jump into the big four as they settled for a barren draw. The result leaves both sides in fifth and sixth positions with 32 and 30 points respectively.Relegation threatened Nyanza FC failed to help themselves out of the danger zone following a 1-all draw against visitors Marines in Nyanza.
