The world was once again treated to the destructive nature of people who are genocide apologists and deniers, when many Rwandans who had gone to attend a conference at the Hague’s Peace Palace were denied entry, presumably because of their ethnicity. The International Conference on Peace and Development in the Great Lakes Region was organized by Duurzam Voor Afrika and Dusabane, two Rwandan organizations known to be close allies to Genocidal forces. The star of these negative forces, Paul Rusesabagina, was slated to speak at this conference; and being an occasion to be attended by invitation only, was subjected to close scrutiny by the organisers.

One would think that being a conference for people from the Great Lakes to discuss their development, the organisers would welcome as many as would deign to attend.
As is now generally known about such conferences, they are not called for any development agenda other than spewing venom against the current Rwandan leadership, and to raise funds from gullible Europeans who are willing to lend a sympathetic ear to their diatribes, thereby unknowingly funding genocide ideologues to further wreak havoc upon long-suffering Rwandans.
So it is not surprising that they cannot welcome any Rwandans who know their hoax and are ready to challenge the likes of Rusesabagina about their authenticity.
We in Rwanda can only feel very sad that such foolish displays are being enacted on a world stage now, even if it is only to vindicate the current government’s call to criminalise such activities that deny the 1994 Genocide and give it all slants and twists to disfigure its reality and history.
The world needs to wake up to these people’s tricks and brazen negativity, and bar them from holding public gatherings that slap the survivors of the Genocide in the face when they deny it.
After all, as is often said, the Nazis were never given any opportunity to postulate anywhere in the world after their mass murders of Jews from 1933 to 1945. By everything that is moral, these genocidaires and accomplices to genocidaires should never have been given any platform, anywhere in the world.
