The idea behind pairing a blazer with jeans is to create a look that is casual and comfortable, but still has that little something extra. Wearing a blazer with jeans can give you a less than formal but still put-together look that is perfectly suited to many events or occasions. This look may even be appropriate for casual business meetings or lunches, or a less formal office environment. With this fashion trend being so popular, lots of designers are making blazers that work well with jeans. Look for one with soft shoulders (no pads) and think about the fabric. "The blazer needs to be an actual blazer, but a lot of guys are trying to use a suit jacket as a blazer. They are not cut the same and they are usually not made from the same fabrics. If the jacket came with a pair of pants, then it is supposed to go with those pants, not jeans,” says Jovia Kankindi, a local designer. "If you usually spend your days dressed in official business attire, you may not be comfortable going from formal to casual ,or call it ‘street wear’ The blazer with jeans look allows you to dress it down just a touch without losing that well-dressed look and feel,” observes Emma Rutayisire, of Rut Styles, at Muhima.Ditch your suit and throw on a pair of comfy dark jeans to create a more relaxed look for an evening out with friends. The blazer with jeans look is best pulled off with a tailored style that fits well and hangs nicely. Jeans should be fitted as well rather than a baggy style. Avoid ripped jeans. Complete this combination with Athletic or a pair of casual shoes. Remember that this specific look is not just the jeans or just the blazer, but the combination of the two. A nice blazer can be thrown off by wearing the wrong pair of jeans. So when looking for jeans to suit this look, look for fitted or medium  size, also go for neutral colored, a black or navy blue would be ideal. While there are certain accepted choices for pairing a blazer with jeans, your best bet is to try several different looks to see what best suits you. You do not have to look like everyone else to pull off this style. While tucking your shirt in is usually the way to go, you can also try a button-down shirt topped with a sweater under a blazer, letting the shirt tails show beneath the sweater. Keep mixing and matching different pieces until you find a style that looks and feels good to you.
