Firm supports Genocide widows

As part of its social corporate responsibility, the Natural Resources Development (NRD), Wednesday, donated assorted items worth Rwf1.5 million to 60 Genocide widows in Nyamata, Bugesera District.

As part of its social corporate responsibility, the Natural Resources Development (NRD), Wednesday, donated assorted items worth Rwf1.5 million to 60 Genocide widows in Nyamata, Bugesera District.The items included foodstuff, clothes and utensils."We at NRD want to be socially responsible investors by contributing to the welfare of Rwandans. From the beginning of our activities four years ago in Rwanda, we have promoted community outreach programmes, including building a clinic in Karongi District,” Zuzana Mruskovicova, the Financial Controller at NRD said."The Genocide against the Tutsi left very many families devastated, children were orphaned and women widowed. Just like any other accountable business, we reached out to the widows in Nyamata with an aim to improve their lives.” The Executive Secretary of Nyamata, Emmanuel Twahirwa, helped identify the beneficiaries.
