Editor,I was delighted to read an article in The New Times of April 11, titled ‘Airtel acquires Rwandatel’s GSM masts for $ 15.5 million’.It is very encouraging to see the rapid pace with which Indian companies are investing in this beautiful country. The fact that Airtel invested US$45 million in less than a year, only endorses the view that Rwanda is ready for business and the country indeed welcomes investors with open arms.Recently, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Jain Irrigation Systems, Punj Lloyd and others have all set up base in Rwanda. The Rwanda Special Economic Zone is yet another innovation by the Rwanda Development Board towards making the country a preferred investment destination for even small and medium enterprises.I am sure Airtel Rwanda will surpass their targeted investment of US$100 million, over a three year period, and introduce many innovations in the country.Clarence Fernandes
