Zimbabwe’s Mugabe not ill, say party officials

Zimbabwe officials on Tuesday dismissed rumours that President Robert Mugabe was seriously ill in Singapore, saying he was well and on holiday with his family, and would be returning this week.

Zimbabwe officials on Tuesday dismissed rumours that President Robert Mugabe was seriously ill in Singapore, saying he was well and on holiday with his family, and would be returning this week.Two senior officials with Mugabe’s ZANU-PF party, who declined to be named, said the rumours about the 88-year-old leader battling for his life in a Singapore hospital were not true."The president is well and away on a private holiday to help his daughter prepare for post-graduate studies, but we are expecting him home this week,” said one of the officials.
