Rwanda 38-13 Burundi

Rwanda U17 were crowned Zone 5 women's youth and junior Champions after Sunday’s 38-13 victory over Burundi in the final held at Benjamin Mkapa Indoor Stadium, Dar es Salaam.

The final victory saw Anaclet Bagirishya’s girls secure a ticket for the Continental Phase of the Women's IHF Trophy Africa.

Rwanda advanced to the final after beating Ethiopia 47-6 in the semi-finals on Saturday while Burundi progressed to the final after a convincing 42-11 semi-final victory over South Sudan.

It was a final that Rwanda looked destined to win following their convincing dominance throughout the zone 5 campaign.

The tournament brought together eight teams representing countries from Zone 5 region, which were clustered in two groups.
