Beauty:The comeback of neon colored fashion

IN the eighties when I was a young girl and crazy about fashion, my favourite colours were neon. I remember so well every Saturday I used to go to school wearing my sneakers each show with a different lace colour. I would always mix bright orange, pink or green; for a while this was my signature weekend style until when neon colours were replaced by the neutral browns and more blacks and whites.

IN the eighties when I was a young girl and crazy about fashion, my favourite colours were neon. I remember so well every Saturday I used to go to school wearing my sneakers each show with a different lace colour. I would always mix bright orange, pink or green; for a while this was my signature weekend style until when neon colours were replaced by the neutral browns and more blacks and whites.Fast forward 30 years on and the highlighter inspired colours are making a strong come back not only in the clothing department but also in accessories. We have seen the first ladies of fashion in the celebrity list like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian enjoying their neon clothes as well as other accessories.Neon is on the rise for Spring Summer 2012. It’s funky and everywhere, varying from luminous greens, yellows, pinks to daring oranges and reds. It takes courage to wear neon because you are guaranteed to be the center of attention. Just very recently on the runways, there was the Colour block funfair and the neon’s are best suited for this kind of mixing. Kim Kardashian looked so in place when she was spotted recently wearing a neon blazer over a black jumpsuit. Even though, for many mixing clothes with neutrals is a safe option, you can truly have fun and mix up your usual clothes with neon.By the way, neon can make or break an outfit depending on how one dresses the different colours. Like many trends, there are some guidelines to follow while incorporating these into your everyday fashion life, but again one can try to experiment first with at least two colours before you go full throttle. After that head to toe neon will come almost as natural.Starting off with a small accessory of a neon coloured piece, such as a belt, handbag or even neon socks, can be the first step to get you out there and be noticed. As you get more and more comfortable with the trend, you can wear a skirt or pants in this shocking hue with a blazer or collared shirt. Neon can also look very put together and polished if it’s worn as a monochrome pant suit in shades such as electric blue or magenta. The great thing about this spring trend is that it really is very accessible; so experimenting will not be hard to do.

All these colours are very refreshing and are a sure sign that people are ready to embrace colours.Neon shades have dominated the runways this season and have paved the way to a bright year for fashion. Even though the neon colours are back, there are some people who will not look at the neon colours even twice fearing the outcome.

For such people, the good news is that you do not have to wear neon from head to toe if you are not comfortable, adding a pinch of neon to your outfit can add a little mixture of good looking ensemble.

Whichever way one decides to wear the neon shades, believe you me, you are sure to be spotted and listed among the fashionistas and your friends will look to you for fashion advice.
