Local rugby side, Lion de Fer, will start this year’s Menengai Oil Great Rift 10s tournament with an aim of winning the title. The tournament starts this Saturday in Nakuru, Kenya.The club chairman Papy Olivier Nikwigize, who also doubles as the team’s playmaker, confirmed the team’s travel arrangements and their intentions for the two-day tournament. "We are travelling by road aboard Kampala Coach to Nakuru. It’s a long journey which will leave us fatigued for the tournament, but that’s not an excuse. We’re not going there just to make numbers but to play and win the title,” Nikwigize told Times Sport before the team’s departure.Five of the 15-man Lion de Fers travelling players feature for the national team, the Silverbacks.The team was formed back in 2004 and won Rwanda’s national 15s league the same year retaining it in 2005.
