Dear editor,

Any open minded individual, can not miss to note the pathetic situation of many Rwandans painfully depending and looking up to only their meager salaries.

This situation is a result of how people’s mindsets are formatted, accruing from their culture and values. It is surprising to see some people deciding to entirely depend on salaries.

They should not lock up their brains from being flexible and proactive towards creating opportunities and getting other sources of generating income. We need to try to match with the overriding responsibilities that need money.

I therefore take this lofty opportunity to awaken people in all walks of life not to overlook the fact that salary is not enough. But marrying it with other entrepreneurial ventures can be incredibly rewarding.

However, it should be done while leveling the ground for self employment and the capacity to direct one’s personal destiny.
