Senate president, Dr. Jean Damascene Ntawukuliryayo, has welcomed a proposal by Italian parliamentarians to visit, explore investment opportunities and market the country.

Senate president, Dr. Jean Damascene Ntawukuliryayo, has welcomed a proposal by Italian parliamentarians to visit, explore investment opportunities and market the country.He said this on Sunday evening after meeting a group of five Italian parliamentarians attending the 126th Assembly of the Inter Parliamentary Union in Kampala, Uganda."They expressed interest in visiting Rwanda and to also explore and market investment opportunities in the country,” Ntawukuliryayo told The New Times in Kampala."I informed them of the opportunities in energy, tourism, education and health and they assured me that a prominent Italian investor will visit Kigali in April to explore these opportunities.” The Senate president added that he requested the lawmakers to help promote Rwanda’s image in some parts of Europe that still have Genocide revisionists.Meanwhile, South Sudan, yesterday, applied to join the Inter Parliamentary Union with its National Legislative Assembly Speaker, James Wani Igga, saying his country is on the right democratic path."We are appealing to all IPU members gathered in Kampala today to solemnly admit the Parliament of South Sudan, the National Legislative Assembly into this august global body, the IPU,” Igga petitioned the lawmakers in Kampala.
