THE Remera Buffaloes have now turned their focus to the Jinja Nile fun rugby 7s tournament scheduled for April 6 in Jinja, Uganda with only one aim, to win the tournament.Buffaloes’ head coach Gerald Nsenga told Times Sport exclusively that, "We have been working hard and it is time that the efforts pay off. We were in Jinja last year and finished third but this Friday, we want the trophy back home.”The Remera side will look to Vincent Kamali and Benjamin Makombe for inspiration after the duo were at the heart of the team’s triumph in Mbarara over the weekend where they won the Western Uganda Charity sevens trophy.Established as the best 7s team, the Buffaloes have mastered the art of the quicker version of the game and this tournament finds them at their peak of fitness.Unlike, their to-be Ugandan and Kenyan opponents, who are currently playing 15s rugby in their specific national leagues, the Buffaloes have been playing 7s for the past two months and will use this to their advantage.Top try scorer last weekend with 11 tries, Kamali believes that, "We have shown that we are good at 7s and together as a team we have no option but to bring the trophy back home.”Ahead of the tournament’s seventh edition, this year’s event has attracted over 15 teams from neighboring Kenya as well as Uganda.
