The Raga diva Sgt Robert Kabera of Army Jazz Band will be thrilling Musanze town, this Friday at White Gloria inn Hotel. White Gloria inn is one of the posh hotels in this Northern Province town, which hosts a reasonable clientele.
It is his first solo concert to be performed in the Northern Province and is expected to attract several up coming artists in Musanze as curtain raisers. The concert is entitled, ‘adding warmth in Musanze’.
Kabera is sponsored by the Hotel Manager, Mike Mukama, who has been trying to promote local artists since he emerged a successful businessman.
The active army singer has also been in Umutara (Eastern province) in company with Cyoga stylist singer Rafiki Mazimpaka, and in Huye with other local artists.
In a play back performance, Kabera will sing songs on his new album ‘Kigali Vipi’ and few of his old singles that have been produced in ‘One Way Productions studios’.
Kabera, who was once an army instructor, sings in Raga, Techno and Reggae styles with a catch deep voice that has made him loved by his fellow artists.
Pursuing his solo career and part timing with Army Jazz Band, Kabera hopes to launch his new album either in May or early June this year.
He plans to co-perform with a Ugandan based singer Claver J. at the launch of his new album ‘Kigali Vipi’ which will follow his duo performance concert with Rafiki Mazimpaka, scheduled to take place in Nyagatare, the Eastern Province major District.
