Editor, What better news could you give us on a Saturday morning that an Indian company, Bharti Airtel, under the able guidance of Manoj Kohli, CEO, had a mega launch at their newly-constructed headquarters near Amahoro national stadium in Remera? It is encouraging to note that this Indian telecom company will invest over US$ 100 million in three years to operate second generation (2G) and third generation (3G) mobile services in the country. We must appreciate the tremendous efforts by the various Government institutions which have facilitated this great investment into the country. The Government of Rwanda has, over the years, put emphasis on the enhancement of information and communications technology (ICT). This is definitely paying good dividends with substantial investments in the sector now flowing into the country.Airtel Rwanda must be applauded for being a "rural-focused company” and for bringing their world-class services and expertise to Rwanda.Congratulations; Airtel Rwanda, you will surely make many millions smile in Rwanda – this beautiful Land of a Thousand Hills! Clarence Fernandesclavinmarketing@gmail.com
