YAOUNDE Cameroon have reached a provisional agreement with Guinea for an international friendly in France on May 27, the spokesperson for the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) has announced."We reached a provisional agreement for the friendly encounter between the national teams from the two countries which will be in training camps in France in that month,” Junior Binyam said. "But we’ve not yet agreed in which town in France the match will take place. Negotiations for that are still going on,” he added. The international friendly is part of both countries’ preparation for qualifiers for the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The news on the friendly against Guinea comes less than one week after Cameroon rejected an invitation from the other West Africa nation Cote d’Ivoire. No official reason was given for turning down the invitation from one of Africa’s current football performing nations which many fans in the nation’s capital would have preferred."I think it would have been much better for us to take on a team like Cote d’Ivoire so as to be properly placed to see our weaknesses,” said one of the fans Kongyu Langmia. "Because when you watch the late 1-0 victory over very lowly ranked Guinea-Bissau in the first leg of the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier it shows that our team still has a lot of work to do to improve its performance.”
