Goethe-Institut- German Cultural Centre in Kigali, presents its new open discussion format dubbed "BrainS T O R M”, today.The discussion will be held at the Goethe-Institut (Ishyo Arts Centre) in Kacyiru, from 7p.m. In the BrainS T O R M series, once a month expert guest speakers will introduce current and controversial topics and discuss them with the audience. The event will also launch its first session un/AFRICANness, which focuses on questions around concepts of African identity.It is for the second time this year that Goethe addresses contemporary topics linked with society and culture, the latter being a seismograph of social change. The power of dialogue: In the series BrainS T O R M, controversial subjects will be exposed once a month. Encounters that are open and creative, paving the way for new thinking.Animated by special guest-speakers and moderators, the forum will engage people from different walks of life to join the conversation and exchange understanding. Each session will feature a special theme. This month’s argument is popped up in recent times every now and then when people saw "traditional African values” at stake and "Africa” threatened by pretended "western influences”. Expect a controversial debate! The free discussion series features guest speakers such as Georges Kamanayo (film-maker) and Faustin Kagame (journalist).
