Huge prize awaits Guma Guma winner

East Africa Promoters head Joseph Mushyoma, on Tuesday, revealed that this season will feature two winners, bringing the total prize money to an incredible Rwf24 million for the winner and the first runners-up walking away with Rwf3 million.

East Africa Promoters head Joseph Mushyoma, on Tuesday, revealed that this season will feature two winners, bringing the total prize money to an incredible Rwf24 million for the winner and the first runners-up walking away with Rwf3 million.The ten Primus Guma Guma Superstar finalists were unveiled on Saturday, March 17, at Kigali Serena Hotel.According to Mushyoma, the Rwf24 million will be split as follows: Rwf6 million as the cash prize, a contract of Rwf6 million, an album valued at Rwf5  million, its launch worth Rwf6 million with all the proceeds given to the winner, and a video worth Rwf1   million.He noted that from April to July, the contestants will receive Rwf1 million each month to facilitate them during the competition."The monthly facilitation, which will be considered as a salary, will help the contestants to cater for their needs, such as buying clothes and paying the dancers,” said Mushyoma. "We shall only pay for their make-up as well as transport and accommodation for their staff during the road shows, as contestants will be proving to the public their music prowess.” Apart from the monthly wage, all the 10 finalists received Rwf500,000 upon joining the Primus Guma Guma second season.This year’s contestants are all full of energy, personality and great music talent with two female and eight male contestants locking horns for the grand prize. It is noteworthy that last year’s contest featured only male artists.   Primus Guma Guma superstar is sponsored by Bralirwa, in partnership with the East Africa Promoters. The two winners will be announced during the grand finale on July 28. It will be a night to remember for Rwandans as internationally acclaimed R&B star Jason Derülo graces the event.
