Editor,I wish to respond to a story which appeared in The Sunday Times, March, 25 in which the Ministry of Public Service and Labour said that civil servants’ academic papers were being scrutinised in an effort to stamp out forged academic papers.Some of the institutions have not done enough to vet academic transcripts of employees before they are recruited.It is wrong to recruit people before thorough vetting. Some of them studied outside the country hence, it is hard to tell whether they ‘graduated’ from accredited universities.Our economy needs well-qualified personnel if it to attain the set developmental targets.Chantal Mutamba Kabeza
