Editor,I read in The Sunday Times, March, 25, that some government officials will face prosecution over mismanagement of public funds as a result of a report by the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC). But names of the accused officials were not revealed. We need to know who these people are and shame them. Taxpayers’ money must be guarded jealously. When their names are published in the newspapers, it would not mean that they are guilty. Like our Constitution states, they are of course innocent until proven guilty. But I wonder why every time a report like that comes out, no names are given. I do not see the point of writing such a report in the newspaper without including names of those involved. The media should do more and not report only what the Prosecutor General´s Office gives them.Robert MugishaKanombe
