Dear editor,
Allow me to state that it’s absurd to note that as we are breathing air of civilization, some people in our midst can barely read a full page of written text. When it is not out of illiteracy but a disdainful weakness to read and access information.
To some people it has developed into a full scale phobia and they feel a sudden irritability whenever they see a written text in front of their eyes. However this condition by any standard poses a great threat to the present and the future of intellectuals.
On the global scale, market situations, fashions, entertainment, technology is being updated within a blink of an eye. And it is on this notice that any citizen of this country regardless of destination needs to be up to date with the world affairs.
However, it poses a fatal threat to find that irrespective of all that, some people don’t want to access information through reading. Reading different pieces is the easiest and most cost effective way of accessing information on what happens on the local scene as well as international.
People across different social levels of life need to nurture and develop a culture of reading.
This culture can be easily cultivated through reinforcing the young generation to be friendly reading by rewarding them after accomplishing a certain reading opportunity; this motivates them to do it more often.
People should also stop taking reading as a task but an opportunity to the brain and a pleasure to the mind. Reading is a habit that every individual should adopt to refresh the mind with new thrilling facts and generate wisdom. Reading also gives us the opportunity of having a glimpse into the works of heavy weights in the literally world of all times.
