Rayon Sports resume their push for the league title this afternoon against bogey side Mukura at Nyamirambo stadium.
The Blues are full of confidence and go into today’s game boosted by new signing Abdul Uwimana who penned a two-year deal on Monday.
Uwimana who went AWOL (Away Without Official Leave) while on national team duty in Europe returned last month after nearly a year in Belgium.
Head coach Raoul Shungu told Times Sport yesterday that he is confident his side will walk way with all three points.
A win for Rayon, will give them more hope of pushing rivals APR and Atraco all the way for the title as well as a place in Africa next year.
"We have had a good start since the beginning of the second round and we hope a win against Mukura will help us to continue pushing for the title," Shungu said.
Shungu has no injury worries going into the game against a side that they’ve found hard to beat on several occasions.
Jimmy Gatete leads the striking force with Jean Lomami while Kalisa Kase, Honore Kabongo, Moses Kidega and Roger Tuyisenge are all available.
The central defense pair of Bonaventure Hategikimana and Aimable Rucogoza and goalkeeper Lawrence Webo are all availed for selection.
The Blues side beat Police 1-0 at Nyamirambo stadium on Sunday but remained third on the national league table with 30 points, nine behind leaders APR and eight adrift of Atraco in second but with two games s in hand.
Rayon won the corresponding fixture 3-1 at Huye stadium and will be looking to make a double over the Southern Province side that is fifth on the league table with 26 points.
Elsewhere, Police hosts AS Kigali at Mumena stadium while Electrogaz entertain Kibuye at Camp Kigali grounds.
In the Northern Province, the derby between Etincelles hosts Marines at Umuganda stadium promises to be a thriller as both sides are find themselves at the wrong end of the table with relegation seeming a certainty.
