The Nyarugenge primary court has remanded, for 30 days, an official of Nyamagabe District who is being charged with indecency after a video circulated on social media allegedly showing him engaged in a sexual act at a bar in Kigali City.

The official identified as Edouard Murindababisha is a data manager and was arrested on April 6.

While delivering the bail ruling, the presiding judge ruled to remand him arguing that there is reasonable grounds to suspect that he committed the alleged crime.

The video recorded on phone, during daytime with people watching and moving about, shows Murindababisha, and another person engaged in what looks like sexual intercourse.

The incident is believed to have happened on April 1.
