Jean Baptist Hakizimana jets out this Saturday for Nairobi, Kenya, for early preparations ahead of the Barclays Kenya Open that tees off next weekend.The elite golfer, who has never made the cut in the prestigious tournament that has prize price of Euros 190.000 (Rwf 148m) with Euros 30.400 (Rwf 23m) going to the winner, wants to practice on the Muthaiga golf course for a week before the 4-day tournament tees off."I want to get a feel of the greens and weather before the tournament starts,” the 26-year old said before adding that he wants to do the best he can to win the region’s number one golf tournament.The Kenya Open has been a regular event on the European Challenge Tour since 1991 which explains the big turn up of European golfers over the years.It is reported that on top of Africa’s top golfers from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Nigeria and the East African region (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda), about 100 golfers from the European Challenge Tour have entered the 42nd edition.
