Editor, There is definitely some progress with regard to the promotion of irrigation in Rwanda and the region at large.The region’s efforts to promote agriculture should be supported by all the Partner States and other stakeholders.It’s no secret that without investing in agricultural transformation, the East African Community (EAC) economies can hardly achieve their development goals. Their economies are largely agrarian and unless this sector is turned around, it would be difficult to achieve sustainable food security.As such, investing in irrigation and food storage facilities are some of the measures that can easily go a long way in promoting this sector.Augustin BaryamurebaNyamata
