THE Egyptian Football Association has set March 29 as the date their national team will face Uganda in an International build-up to be played in Khartoum, Sudan."We have got communication from Cairo (Egypt) that build-up that was meant to take place early this month will now be played in Sudan,” Federation of Uganda Football Associations CEO Edgar Watson told Xinhua in an interview. Watson said the Egyptian FA President Samir Adly had confirmed that the match will take place because the Egyptian team Pharaohs will have a training camp in Khartoum from March 25-29. The African giants will also face Chad at the Khartoum Stadium on March 31.Following violent clashes that resulted in the death of over 30 people during a league game in Egypt last month, there have been security concerns which forced the Egypt FA to fail to host the Cranes in Cairo. The Egyptian League has also been suspended due to security reasons. Watson said that the Cranes is now set to start training on Friday ahead of the trip which will be fully sponsored by the Egyptian FA.Uganda’s head coach Bobby Williamson who has been under pressure recently after the team’s 3-1 loss to Congo Brazzaville in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, said he will only use locally based players because the date is not ear-marked for international build-up by the world football body Federation of International Football Association. "The local players will have to showcase their talent and convince me that they can make it into the first team even when the professional are available,” said Williamson.Uganda is the regional Cecafa (Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations) defending champions after defeating Rwanda’s Amavubi last December in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.
