RWANDA’s professional golfer Jean Baptsite Hakizimana has left nothing to chance in his bid to put up a strong showing at the Barclays Bank Kenya Open Championships which tees off at Muthaiga Golf Club from March 28.Altech Stream sponsored Hakizimana leaves for Nairobi on Saturday to acclimatise with the course, days before the event."I have had enough training here in Kigali and with my ambition of pulling the best result, I am heading to Nairobi to train and get used with Muthaiga greens.”"I will train on the greens so as to enable me get in the right shape before the competition. I am confident and looking forward to the challenge,” added Hakizimana.This year’s edition will attract top golfers from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Egypt, Uganda, Rwanda and Swaziland.Kenya will rely on local professionals and six amateurs at the 43 edition of the Kenya Open Golf Championships.The Kenya Open joined the Challenge Tour programme 22 years ago.This year’s prize money for the championship is 190,000 Euros, raised from many local corporate sponsors.The hole-in-one sponsorship has once again been taken by Toyota, with a Toyota Prado on offer for the first professional player to hole out in one at the 13th hole.
