The Amavubi Stars’ team influential professional pair of Olivier Karekezi and Saidi Abedi Makasi is expected to arrive in the country today. Both Karekezi and Abedi are arriving aboard SN Brussels and Ethiopian airplanes respectively tonight.

The Amavubi Stars’ team manager Jean Pierre Baziza Ngango told Times Sport yesterday that they have finalized the travel expenses for the pair.

"We have just been in contact with the pair and all the necessary travel documents have been forwarded to them,” Baziza confirmed.

He further added that Karekezi who had an Allsvenskan league game yesterday was meant to start the trip back home a few hours after his Swedish team’s fixture."He had club commitments yesterday (Monday) which he was meant to first fulfill before making his trip back home the same day,” Baziza said.

Karekezi steered Helsingborg to the second round of the Uefa Cup qualifiers after notching a late minute in a 3-0 victory against Drogheda United last month.

The Israel based striker Abedi who was on form for Amavubi Stars’ past fixtures has finalized a free transfer switch to Maccabi Herzliya from Hapoel Petach Tikva FC after his former team faced relegation from Israel premier football league.

Meanwhile, Belgium based midfielder; Jimmy Mulisa has been dropped from the squad list for this weekend’s Nations’ Cup qualifier against Liberia.

"His (Mulisa’s) services in this weekend’s game won’t add any major effect thus local players will fill his position,” Baziza noted.

Mulisa who features for RFC Tournai of Belgium was also among the five professional players summoned by Ferwafa last month.

The other professional player, goal custodian Ramadhan Nkuzingoma who features for TP Mazembe of DR Congo will land at the Amavubi Stars’ team camp in Gisenyi tomorrow.

Nkuzingoma’s team lost to Tunisian club CS Sfaxien 2-0 in Kinshasa in the second leg of this year’s Confederation Cup over the weekend.

26 players who were summoned by Ferwafa last month are under intensive preparations for their last group game against Liberia in Gisenyi, Northern Province.

Rwanda, with three points at the bottom of the group V after four qualifying ties, will need a win in the last home game to win back the fans.

Rwanda lost the last qualifying game against Cameroon 1-2 in Douala but this time the national football federation is optimistic that their derby against Liberia in Kigali may go in favour of the Amavubi Stars.

Rwanda will play Liberia in Kigali while group leaders Cameroon travel to Malabo for their crucial tie against Equatorial Guinea. Meanwhile, Cameroon has already qualified to take part in the 2008 Ghana African Nations Cup.Ends
