APR has started preparations ahead of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) men’s club championships which will be played in Tunisia, from April 19 to May 1.APR has lost their best player Yakan Guma Lawrence, who joined Algeria’s side Etoile Sportive Seif, but head coach, Sammy Mulinge believes in his team will do a good job in Tunis.As part of their preparations, Mulinge confirmed that APR plans to play build-up matches against local rivals, the National University of Rwanda, INATEK and Nyanza."We lost our best player (Yakan) but I have other young players, who I believe will be eager to impress in the competition.” he said. APR top in national volleyball league with nine points and Mulinge is convinced this form kind of form puts his team in good position to challenge for the continental crown.Kenya will host CAVB’s women club championship which will kick off on April 8 and end on May 20 in Nairobi.Rwanda will be represented by two teams, Rwanda Revenue Authority, the winner of 2011 league title, and APR, who finished second.
