Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) has announced the first ever Liberation Cup tournament to be concluded on July 4 as part of Rwanda’s celebrations of the 29th Liberation Day.
After a successful 2022/2023 Inter Force Competition that was concluded on January 31, RDF Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Jean-Bosco Kazura instructed the organisation of a Liberation Cup Tournament.

The tournament will be an RDF inter-force competition aiming to boost force morale and cohesion within RDF Units as well as to celebrate the Liberation Day.
The Liberation Cup tournament will also enhance social interaction with the civilian population.
The competition, which will be played in three sports disciplines including Football, Basketball, and Volleyball, begins on May 1 and will run through July 3. It will be organized in the form of a championship.
This year's edition will bring together 20 teams from RDF Units/Formations divided into four groups.
Trophies, medals and awards will be handed over on July 3 a day before the celebration of the Liberation.
