Zimbabwe will not legitimize the International Criminal Court (ICC) since it has deviated from the original function for which it was created Zimbabwe’s Justice and Legal Affairs Minister Patrick Chinamasa has said.Speaking on Thursday during the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland Chinamasa was quoted by state radio as saying the ‘big powers have compromised the international court by using it in a discriminatory manner to punish leaders from developing countries.’

He said Zimbabwe rejects the acceptance of homosexuality and the legalization of such acts through the new constitution. Chinamasa also blasted those countries which have imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe, urging them to remove them without further delays. He said Syrians should be given a chance to deal with their own issues without external interference, criticizing Western powers’ interference in Third World countries and citing Libya which was destroyed as a result of such meddling.
