Primus Guma Guma Superstar Season 2 Top 10 finalists will be announced tomorrow night, at Kigali Serena Hotel, and, there will be surprises to some and some shocks as well. Only ten finalists out of 20 contestants will be selected from the voting process (Internet and SMS) that started on February 20 - March 14, to join Rwanda’s exalted music competition.After the finalists are revealed, the show is going to get real tough, especially since a number of the former contestants will be on the line up for the second edition.Voting was carried out in accordance with the rules of the competition; SMS and Internet based votes carried a weight of 80% and 20%, respectively, in determining the winner (s) of each phase. Each SMS was charged Rwf 65 only.Fans were allowed only one SMS vote per day, or one Internet based vote per day, and the validity of any vote is at the sole discretion of Bralirwa Ltd, the organiser of the competition.With the PGGSS second edition being one of the best, it is so hard to say goodbye to many of the talents this year, but we have to remember that Bralirwa, the brewer and soft beverage company is searching for talent and not sob stories or being cute to keep you in,.The music competition is designed to bring together the best of Rwanda’s local artistes and engage the whole nation in an exciting and energetic music journey. The first edition was done in 2011 and the winner was R&B sensation Tom Close.Primus Guma Guma Superstar represents a continuous commitment towards supporting talent and live music in Rwanda. Before the competition kicks off, professional voice coaches will guide the contestants to help them perk up their voices.The winner of the Primus Guma Guma Superstar 2012 will be announced on July 28, at Amahoro Stadium, in a live performance that will be graced by American hit-maker Jason Derulo, who is famous for his songs including; ‘Whatcha Say’ and ‘Crush On You’. The 22-year-old singer/songwriter, has written songs for big stars such as P. Diddy, Danity Kane, Donnie Klang, Sean Kingston, Cassie and Lil’ Mama.The countrywide road show starts May 5, and ends June 23, 2012.The 20 contestants battling it to the Top 10 are: Elion, Jay Polly, Knowles, Kamichi, Rafiki, King James, Paccy, Patrick Nyamitari, Riderman, Urban Boys, The Brothers and Just Family. Uncle Austine, Dream Boys, Naason, Jozy, Young Grace, Emmy, Bull Dogg and Danny Nanone.
