As the national athletics federation longstanding administrative crisis eases up, the attention has now turned to where it matters most, the athletes.Six athletes have been selected to represent the country in the Africa Cross Country Championships scheduled for March 18 in Cape Town, South Africa.Eric Sebahire, Jean Marie Vianney Uwaseneza, Alex Nizeyimana, Evariste Nzabonimpa, Geofrey Rutayisire and Robert Kajuga will run in the 10.000m category.The runners leave on Thursday at 8:00pm abroad Rwandair alongside coach Innocent Rwabuhihi for the one day event that has attracted athletes from 20 countries.Meanwhile, 4 runners will also take part in 42km Rome marathon later this month.The runners, who will be coached by Emmanuel Murenzi are: Epiphanie Nyirabarame, Felix Ntirenganya, Jean Pierre Mvuyekure and Freddy Twahirwa.According to the federation interim president Alexander Kayitsinga, the athletics governing body, will also organize its annual general assembly on March 25 where the main point for discussion will be elections of a new executive committee."We want a new lease of life in the athletics federation and that will only be possible with a new administration,” Kayitsinga told this paper by phone yesterday.
