Editor,Allow me to react to a story that appeared in The New Times, yesterday, about the plans by Inyange Industries to introduce milk dispensers, a move it says it aimed at improving the quality of its milk. According to the story, the machines will allow consumers to access processed milk at a low price. This is indeed good news. My request is that these machines should be as affordable as possible to make them accessible to small-scale traders. Alternatively, Inyange should lease them out so that most people can easily access them.It is important that people can be able to afford healthy and processed milk. That looks a better option compared to sachet milk in a country which banned plastic packaging.Milk, if not well treated or handled, can be a source of many infections and illnesses. Therefore, citizens will be able to drink healthy milk. It is a good initiative that should reach the grassroots.Carol Mwiza RwegoKigali
