Imbaraga Internet Radio is holding its third ‘Uganda Night’ in Kigali on Saturday, March 24, from 8pm till dawn. On the night, Maro, a professional vocalist famous for the song ‘Biabe’ that features Blue3’s Mya, will perform at all his songs, and probably some from his fellow Ugandan artistes.The night that brings Ugandan musicians close to their fans in Rwanda, will be held at Planet Club at Kigali Business Centre (KBC) building.The ‘Uganda Night’ which started in August last year, has so far brought in the country Ugandan artistes such as Sizza Man, Piano Pound and Magla. Speaking to The New Times, Dennis Wasswa, the owner of Imbaraga Internet Radio, which organises the event, said that the ‘Uganda Night’ was initiated to promote and exchange the Ugandan-Rwandan music.‘We introduced the ‘Night’ to bring music closer to the people after realising that Ugandan music was connected to that in Rwanda,” Wasswa noted.Entrance to Planet Club is Rwf 2500 and the night is sponsored by East African Villas, Star Times and UBC TV, among others.With a 70.000 listenership, Imbaraga Internet Radio is the only online radio station that has an application that supports Blackberry, iPhone and Android phones.
