MTN Rwanda has agreed to inject Rwf51.4m into the 17th edition of the Peace Cup competition whose winners represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.The development was confirmed, yesterday, by the Rwanda Football Federation, Ferwafa, which is set to sign a contract deal before the end of this week.The Ferwafa Secretary General Michel Gasingwa told Times Sport yesterday, "We have agreed a Rwf51.4m sponsorship deal to cover the remaining duration of this year’s MTN Peace Cup competition,”According to Gasingwa, Rwf40m will go into covering the cost of the prize money, trophies, medals, administration fees and other accessories, while the rest will go into publicity and communication.MTN started sponsoring the tournament in 2008. APR won the tournament after a 4-2 win over Police in the finals of the knock out competition last year.This year’s edition is now in its quarter finals with Police set to face Marines, APR host SEC academy, AS Kigali play away to Mukura and Kiyovu host Rayon Sport on a yet-to-be specified date.
