Last evening defending champions Manchester United leapfrogged their cross-town rivals, Manchester City, in the English Premier League race, thanks to a Wayne Rooney-inspired home victory against West Bromwich, with City losing away to Swansea.With the season getting to the run-in stage, I have no qualms Sir Alex Ferguson and his team have a physiological edge over Roberto Mancini and his now-faltering since the former have more experience at that level – as a team. Two, it is clear that United, with all their European woes this year, have more intent and determination to make up for their early exit from the UEFA Champions League by remaining the kings of England – and Manchester – for another year.That would be their 20th league title, two more than Liverpool’s, but more importantly, the trophy would give them enormous bragging rights over their resurgent and star-studded noisy neighbours – Man City.
