It was an unforgettable Friday for Miss JoJo and her fans. The "Siwezi Enda” singer launched her eagerly-awaited album, ‘Woman’, in Kigali on Friday night (March 9) in the presence of the Minister of Sports and Culture, Protais Mitali – and big names on the music scene like Kamichi, Shanel, Dream Boyz, Masamba and Kenya-based Burundi maestro Kidum.The singer enthralled a strong crowd at Gikondo’s Expo Ground, with her hit numbers. She sung songs from the new album including its cover ‘Woman’, ‘Free’, East African Show’, ‘Nganirira’, ‘Sibira’ and ‘Ngwino urebe u Rwanda’.Miss JoJo, whose voice has continued to inspire a generation of female R&B performers, thanked her fans for supporting her in her music career and for attending her album launch – before treating them to a spectacular show.The concert started at 7p.m, first with a poem titled ‘Tera intambwe mu iterambere ngaho twaza kataza’ (stay the course on the development journey), by one Sarafina, and specially dedicated to women. It was followed by Khizz, who curtain raised in two of his singles ‘Ifoto’ and ‘Niwe ntawundi. ’Other artistes who curtain-raised the show included Olivis, who introduced his performance with unique dance moves in his renditions of ‘Urabibona’ and ‘Hitamo. King James took to the stage with a more sensational performance which stirred up the crowds. The Dream Boyz, too, stormed the stage and put up a great performance.Ganzo did it her way with a unique and stunning live presentation, alongside her pianist, with songs such as ‘Ndagukunda. Just Family, who were all clad in white suits fired up the crowds in their hits; ‘Nyemerera’, ‘Nyohoreza’, among others, which sent fans into wild celebration. Sentore Masamba was next on stage and he too pulled an amazing performance with his traditional vocals.Then it was time for Miss JoJo to give the revellers a true treat, and she did it in style. Backed by her impressive queen dancers, she put up remarkable presentations.Next on stage was Knowles, who was joined by Kamichi as they performed their romantic collabo ‘Rukuruzi’- it kept the audience really entertained the more.Shanel’s routines provoked many to leave the edges of their seats – and rise up as she did her style of live performance with her guitarist in some of her songs such as ‘Nakutaka’, ‘Rwanda’ and ‘This Day’. She then introduced Miss JoJo to officially launch her new album ‘Woman’.The show was responded to positively by fans, with, first, an auction in which the first CD was bought at Rwf300, 000 by Minister Mitali, who was the Chief Guest.Miss Jojo went on with her performances before she was joined by Masamba.The event’s guest artiste, Kidum, gave the audience more than what they had anticipated.He kept the crowds on their feet with his songs, dance and rib cracking jokes.  The show ended at 11:45p.m.
