Dortmund drop points at title race

Defending champion and front runner Borussia Dortmund shared surprisingly points with Augsburg while record champion Bayern staged a 7-1 goal festival against Hoffenheim at the 25th round of Bundesliga on Saturday.

Top team Dortmund stumbled over bottom team Augsburg that was able to get off one point following a goal less draw after ninety minutes to make title race exciting. The "BVB” remains on top with 56 points and a five point gap to chaser Bayern Munich. Augsburg climbs from 16th to 15th with 23 points. "Today we had no assurance. We have hardly allowed opportunities. Augsburg had won a deserved point today,” Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp said. Record champion Bayern Munich inflicted Hoffenheim a heavy 7-1 loss at out sold Allianz Arena. Within thirty five minutes the "Bavarians” booked five goals on the scoreboards due to two goals by striker Mario Gomez and Dutchmen midfielder Arjen Robben and one by youngster midfielder Toni Kroos. The "Wolves” woke up to turn the match by goals of striker Patrick Helmes and midfielder Ashkan Dejagah to make it 2-1 on the scoreboards just before break. Moreover Leverkusen defender Michal Kadlec extended the lead to 3-1 for Wolfsburg following an own goal. The "Wolves” climb from 11th to 12th with 31 points whereas Leverkusen stays on fifth position with 40 points. Stunner team Monchengladbach remains winless at the third match in row as 17th-positioned Freiburg craved out a goalless draw. The "Fohlen” stay on third position with 48 points whilst Freiburg resides on 17th with 22 points. At the other matches, ten-men Cologne edged struggling Berlin owing the winner by midfielder Christian Clemens and Mainz defeated Nuremberg 2-1.
