The Minister of Local Government, James Musoni, has urged Kigali City Councillors to be innovative and work closely with people to develop sustaining projects that will have positive impact on the population.Musoni made the call this week while addressing Kigali City Advisory Council. The minister requested them to adopt a democratic agenda by carrying out more consultations and provide feedbacks concerning the plans undertaken to improve the lives of Rwandans.‘We don’t want people to use the media as if they don’t have people to solve their problems. You should handle all their needs urgently,” said Musoni. He disclosed that most of the councillors spend time discussing individuals other than focusing on pressing issues affecting the people. The councillors were also reminded to embrace good governance and be a voice for the voiceless and fight injustice in their areas. The council president, Dr. Dieudonne Sebashongere, said his team will now focus more on interacting with the people and indentify problems that hamper economic growth.
