SAFE:Brandts remains in chargeAPR President Alex Kagame has dispelled claims that the club is negotiating with former Burundi coach Adel Amrouche to replace Ernie Brandts.Amrouche quit his job after guiding Burundi to a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe, last week, and was in the company of APR officials when the military side defeated Tusker 1-0 to progress to the second round of the African champions’ league. Brandts, who is in the final season of his two year contract has had a tumultuous league season after losing three and drawing three of his side’s 13 league matches, but the club management have not thought of replacing him yet."He still has a contract with the club till the season ends. So there has not been any discussion about replacing him nor will there be any before the season ends. After every season, the club assess the performance of both playing staff and coaches and makes changes if necessary.” Kagame said.It is the first time in many years that APR has had such a wobbly league performance despite spending huge sums of money in the transfer window to bring in the likes of Seleman Ndikumana, Papy Faty, Dan Wagaluka, Habib Kavuma and Amavubi captain Olivier Karekezi. The military side is currently in 4th place on the league log, six points adrift leaders Police though the former have a game in hand.
