Playoffs TodayAPR vs KBC 10:00am All roads lead to Amahoro indoor stadium this afternoon when the country’s two biggest basketball clubs clash in the Playoff finals.KBC are the league defending champions but Coach Callixte Rutazongerwa is not leaving anything to chance as the club bids to put one over their rivals in the new hoops season."It will be a difficult game because APR has been playing well in the playoffs. But if we are to defend the league title, then we have to start the season well by winning tomorrow (today)’s match.” Rutazongerwa said.APR Coach Cliff Owuor has already challenged his side ‘to sweep all trophies this season.’The winners today will walk away with Rwf 0.3m, while runners-up and third placed team will pocket Rwf 0.2m and Rwf 150.000 respectively courtesy of tournament sponsors Imbuto Foundation who pumped in Rwf 16m in the tourney as a means of using sports to raise awareness about Malaria in the country.The Hoops league is also scheduled to start in June.Meanwhile the National Basketball Federation will hold elections in May to fill in the vacant positions of President, first Vice President and legal Advisor according to Albert Kayiranga, the acting Ferwaba President.The posts fall vacant when former Hoops boss Eric Kalisa, Henry Munyengabe and legal Advisor Shema Maboko resigned last year.
