Administrators train in Sports Management

SPORTS administrators from different sporting federations are undergoing an advanced sport management course to equip them with better management skills.The advanced sport management course organized under the auspices of the Olympic Solidarity is a significant part of the academic services provided by the National Olympic Committee of Rwanda (RNOC).The RNOC Secretary General Parfait Busabizwa said yesterday that the objective of the course is to train Sport Administrators at national level. According to Busabiwa, each federation is required to send three representatives including the president, vice president and secretary general to attend the programme which climax in July this year."This course enables administrators to run their federations in a more professional manner,” added Busabizwa.The entire programme is over a period of one year which consists of 6 modules comprising 3 full-day academic sessions.The sessions are conducted by local Olympic committee officials Busabizwa, Chairman Dr.Charles Rudakubana and vice chairman Elie Manirora who are experts of their respective subject areas.Participants must follow every module as a part of the course requirements. Successful completion of the course requires 100% attendance, plus successful completion of one case study for each module and a final report on the impact of the learning process on the participant’s organization.The programme covers areas such as organization, strategic management, human resources management, financial management, marketing and event management.
