You know what the Bard said. If music be the food of love play on. But what happens when the music stops? Well, then the people starve.
You know what the Bard said. If music be the food of love play on. But what happens when the music stops? Well, then the people starve. That’s kind of what happened when One Music stopped airing on Top TV late last year. The only 24-hour music channel that generally focuses on African music, particularly on Nigerian music – was launched in May 2010. But then word spread that HiTV, which ran One Music’, was facing possible liquidation. So the channel was taken off air.Sandwiched between Smash Hits, Kiss and other predominantly US and UK-based music channels, One Music was a welcome break from the norm. So it’s understandable that the abrupt cancellation of the channel didn’t please everyone. But now, after discovering that One Music could be licensed to Top TV once more, the channel is finally back. And expect to see even more D’Banj than ever before.
